Seasonal Prep
Spring launch prep, mid-season resets, and fall haulout support. Sail Ready Services helps you get the boat cleaned, rigged, organized, and ready — and helps close it down properly at the end of the season so next spring starts easier.
Monthly Boat Watch & Ready Plan
A recurring boat care plan with regular visual check-ins, photo updates, light cockpit and line organization, and pre-sail readiness support. Ideal for owners who can't get to the club every week, are away for stretches, or just want the boat handled quietly in the background.
- Routine visual boat check-ins (monthly, biweekly, or weekly)
- Photo updates after each visit
- Cockpit and line organization
- Recommended next steps before the next sail
- Priority booking for approved small jobs
- Coordination with qualified marine professionals for specialist work
Pre-Sail Setup
Boat cleaned, cockpit ready, lines organized, sails prepped, and a quick visual look before you arrive. Ideal for weekend sailing, family sails, and boats that have been sitting.
Race-Night Prep
Practical race-night prep so the boat and crew are ready to go — line and sail prep, gear organization, and a pre-race rig look. Especially useful for BDYC and West Island club racers running a busy schedule.
Cleaning and Organization
Cockpit and cabin cleaning, cushion and canvas wipe-down, water removal, drying, and locker organization — either as a one-off reset or as part of a Boat Care Plan.
Owner-Approved Small Jobs
Small jobs that come up between sails — replacing a chafed line, sorting a jammed cleat, fitting new fender lines, tidying a mess in the cabin — are quoted and confirmed with the owner before work starts. Nothing happens without approval.
Photo Updates
After each visit you get photos of the boat, notes on anything worth flagging, and clear recommended next steps. It's the kind of update owners wish they had when they can't make it down to the club.
Pricing
Boat Watch & Ready Plan pricing is shown on the current Sail Ready Services website and quote form — please use those details as your starting point. Actual pricing depends on visit frequency, boat size, access, and scope. One-off maintenance visits are quoted separately. A written quote is provided before any recurring plan begins.
Real SRS Example
A West Island sailboat needed water removal, drying, organization, sail handling, boom setup, and basic readiness work. Sail Ready Services helped reset the boat so it was cleaner, drier, more organized, and closer to being ready for sailing — the kind of visit that turns a stressful weekend into a smooth one.
Frequently Asked Questions
Annual sailboat maintenance costs vary a lot with boat size, age, and how much the owner does themselves. A rough industry rule of thumb is 5–10% of the boat's value per year for total ownership costs including storage, insurance, and yard fees. For West Island trailerable and small keelboat owners, direct maintenance is often much lower than that — especially when routine cleaning, prep, and small jobs are handled on a Boat Watch & Ready Plan.
Service Area
Sail Ready Services works with sailboat owners at West Island yacht clubs and nearby clubs and marinas, including Baie-D'Urfé Yacht Club (BDYC), Pointe-Claire, Beaconsfield, Dorval, Île-Perrot, Lord Reading, Royal St. Lawrence, and nearby clubs by request.
