What's Included
A typical Sail Ready Services cleaning and detailing visit covers the outside of the boat, the cockpit and deck, and interior organization on request. Every job is scoped to the boat's condition and the owner's goals.
- Exterior wash and deck cleaning
- Cockpit deep clean and drainage check
- Cabin interior tidy-up and organization
- Cushion, canvas, and dodger wipe-down
- Stainless polish and hardware cleaning
- Hull polish and wax (condition-dependent)
- Wet sanding for heavy oxidation (as needed)
- Water removal, drying, and mildew reduction
- Line coiling, gear stow, and locker organization
- Recommended next steps and photo updates
Who This Is For
- Busy West Island owners who want a clean, presentable boat without giving up a weekend
- Newer owners who want practical help getting the boat ready
- Racers who need the boat sharp before club nights
- Owners preparing a boat for guests, photos, or listing
- Boats coming out of winter storage that need a full reset
- Older boats with tired gelcoat that would benefit from polishing or wet sanding
Pricing
Cleaning and detailing are quoted per boat because pricing depends on length, condition, access, and scope. Please use the current pricing shown on the Sail Ready Services website and quote form as your starting point — final pricing is confirmed in writing after a quick look at the boat. Extra materials, wet sanding, or specialist work is confirmed with the owner before it starts.
Cleaning Products
Sail Ready Services brings its own boat-safe, marine-appropriate cleaning products unless you request a specific brand. Where appropriate, eco-friendly and biodegradable products are used to reduce runoff impact around yacht clubs and marinas. If you have preferences (fragrance-free, non-abrasive, specific polish or wax), just let us know at quote time.
Polishing, Waxing, and Wet Sanding
Depending on the condition of the gelcoat, Sail Ready Services offers polishing, waxing, and — for heavier oxidation — wet sanding to bring the finish back before polishing and waxing. Older sailboats with dull or chalky topsides often see a real difference. We'll look at the hull and recommend the right combination for the boat rather than defaulting to the most aggressive option.
Real SRS Example
A West Island sailboat needed a seasonal reset with cleaning, water removal, drying, organization, sail handling, boom setup, and readiness work. Sail Ready Services helped make the boat cleaner, drier, more organized, and closer to being ready for sailing — with photo updates and a short list of recommended next steps for the owner.
Frequently Asked Questions
Boat cleaning is quoted per boat because pricing depends on length, condition, access, and what's included (deck only, full interior/exterior, canvas, cushions). Small sailboats often start in the low hundreds for a straightforward wash and cockpit clean; a full detail with polishing and interior work costs more. Sail Ready Services provides a written quote after a quick look at the boat.
Service Area
Sail Ready Services works with sailboat owners at West Island yacht clubs and nearby clubs and marinas, including Baie-D'Urfé Yacht Club (BDYC), Pointe-Claire, Beaconsfield, Dorval, Île-Perrot, Lord Reading, Royal St. Lawrence, and nearby clubs by request.
